Michele Williams, a Texas wife and mother, was arrested for killing her millionaire husband Greg Williams. She first told police an intruder had broken into their home and shot her husband Greg, a computer engineer. But during her hours-long interview with the police, she changed the story and said Greg had committed suicide. She said she tried to make it look like a crime scene so her 4-year-old daughter wouldn’t think her father killed himself.
Investigators didn’t buy either of Michele’s stories. But there were no fingerprints and no DNA. They offered Michele a plea deal (18 years in prison). Right before she took the deal she did an interview with 48 Hours and when asked if she killed her husband, she said, “No, I did not.” She also revealed that she now knows who the murderer is. After the interview aired on TV, the judge hauled Michele back in court and withdrew the plea.
