Crowd violence went viral in Port Said, in the newly dictator-free Egypt. A thousand injured. Seventy-four perished. Crushed to death. At a soccer game. Reuters describes it as Egypt’s “worst ever soccer disaster.” No mention of the former title holder.
Inevitably, protests follow. Tear gas, rocks, knives, guns. More dead. Over two-thousand injured now. But this is not the worst ever protest. Not even the worst in a year.
