While a lot of celebrity couples are heading their separate ways, there are couples whose love is as strong after years of marriage as it was back when they started dating.
The 61-year-old comedian Ellen DeGeneres took to her Instagram handle on Friday August 16th to honor her wife after being together for more than a decade.
“Happy anniversary, Portia. 11 years. My favorite number with my favorite person,” DeGeneres wrote. Not just that, Lara Porzak, their wedding photographer, also wished the couple luck through a post — sharing the same photo but adding some lovely sentiments.
“Time is often a crazy concept to grasp – this photo was made ELEVEN years ago! Feels like it was last week! (And yes, it was made on black & white film!) Happiest of anniversaries Portia & Ellen! And thank you for the shout out today on your Instagram!” Porzak wrote.
The duo wed 11 years ago on August 17, 2008. Another interesting point to note here is that the marriage materialized soon after the California Supreme Court ruled against a law banning gay marriage.
