To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the 36 Chambers album, the East Coast hip hop collaborative Wu-Tang Clan is going on a North American and European Tour. The tour kicks off in Europe, at London’s famous Wembley Arena on Friday, May 10, the same day the docu-series Wu-Tang Clan: Of Mics and Men premieres on Showtime.
The surviving members interviewed include Ghostface Killah, who talks about finding inspiration in colors (he loves to write in red ink), nature (he loves to write rhymes near water) and silence. Check out the sneak peek video below.

The history of Wu-Tang Clan is a fascinating one for many reasons including its strenuous relationship with the FBI. The group’s 2014 album Once Upon a Time in Shaolin was sold at an online auction for $2 million to Martin Shkreli, the young founder of Turing Pharmaceuticals, the company that raised the price of the antiparasitic drug Daraprim from $13 to $750 per pill.
When Shkreli was arrested on charges of securities fraud in 2015, there was a rumor that the FBI seized the Wu-Tang Clan album. The rumor was so widespread, the government agency took to social media to dispel the rumor. See Tweet below.
#Breaking no seizure warrant at the arrest of Martin Shkreli today, which means we didn’t seize the Wu-Tang Clan album.

James Comey was the head of the FBI at that time of Shkreli’s arrest. Comey was later fired from the position in May 2017 by President Donald Trump. One year later in April 2018, Wu-Tang Clan members Ghostface Killah and Method Man posed happily with the 6’8″ former FBI director Comey, and wrote: “Workin on getting that album back from the feds”. (See post above.)
The first episode of Wu-Tang Clan: Of Mics and Men premieres Friday, May 10 at 9 pm on Showtime.
