In the Empire episode “In Loving Virtue,” the Lyons once again try to introduce a new and improved Empire. Lucious (Terrence Howard) asks Thirsty Rawlings (Andre Royo) to arrange a meeting with Damon Cross (returning guest star Wood Harris) to help clean up Kingsley’s (AZ Kelsey) mess. Keep in mind, Damon tells Lucious’ wife Cookie (Taraji P. Henson), “You’re gonna come back to me.” Damon is “a handful of scandal” and could become the thing that comes between Lucious and Cookie.
Meanwhile, Thirsty Rawlings has a private conversation in the back of a car with District Attorney Meghan Conway, who’s investigating Lucious and Damon. She believes a big conviction against either man will help her political career. She has eyes set on the Governor’s mansion. Later, when Meghan meets Cookie, she asks her: “Lucious Lyon or Devon Cross, whose freedom are you going to trade for your own?” It’s not an easy question when you feel as Cookie does, “Every day a new grenade blows up in my damn face.”
[Coppola played FBI Agent Spellman in National Treasure 2 with Nick Cage]
DA Meghan Conway on Empire is portrayed by Alicia Coppola. She’s known for her roles on NCIS: Los Angeles (FBI Agent Lisa Rand), Shameless (Sue), The Young and the Restless (Dr. Meredith Gate), Jericho (Mimi Clark), American Dreams (Nancy), and Another World (Lorna Devno), among many others. Coppola (who is no relation to film director Francis Ford Coppola) will appear next on the big screen in The Kitchen with Elisabeth Moss, Melissa McCarthy and Tiffany Haddish. Empire airs Wednesdays at 8 pm on FOX, right before STAR.
