The protagonist of Fox’s new legal drama Proven Innocent is fierce criminal defense lawyer Madeline Scott. She specializes in handling wrongful convictions. Why? Because as a young adult she and her brother Levi Scott (Riley Smith) were found guilty of murder — and later exonerated. Her nemesis is tough-on-crime state’s attorney Gore Bellows (Kelsey Grammer, Frasier), who put her away and still believes she belongs in jail.

Madeline Scott is portrayed by Rachelle Lefevre. Americans will recognize the Canadian-born actress from her her roles on the Lifetime series Mary Kills People (Olivia Bloom), Under the Dome (disgraced journalist Julia Shumway), Boston Legal (Dana Strickland), and in the first two Twilight movies as the evil vampire Victoria (who later was played by Bryce Dallas Howard), among others.
Fun fact: Lefevre is the foodie behind the blog Pass The Butter. She admits, “I’m not a brilliant cook and am certainly no culinary expert but where I do excel is eating; I eat with abandon.” Proven Innocent airs Fridays at 9 pm on FOX, right after Last Man Standing.
