In the Growing Up Hip Hop episode “Leave Me Alone,” while Romeo Miller finds himself in trouble with Angela Simmons after he drops out of their double date, Eric Darnell Wright, Jr. aka Lil Eazy-E, visits the cemetery where his father, N.W.A. rapper Eazy-E aka the “Godfather of Gangsta Rap”, is buried. Lil Eazy-E says “I miss my daddy” and has learned how to be a man on his own. “We grew up in Compton, California like everybody else” where “daddies got killed and shot.” Lil Eazy-E admits, “I’ve got doubts and feels for wanting to know what happened – why he was killed, if he was killed.”
Lil Eazy-E was born in 1984; his father died in 1995 at the age of 30. He was hospitalized with AIDS and died a month later. There are conspiracy theories that Eazy-E’s nemesis Suge Knight killed him via HIV injection. In 2003, Knight chillingly laughed about the “new” method of murder and mentioned Eazy-E on The Jimmy Kimmel Show (see video below). Note: Knight is currently serving a 28-year sentence in prison for the death of Heavyweight Records co-founder Terry Carter during a hit-and-run incident on the set of the 2015 movie Straight Outta Compton.

On Growing Up Hip Hop, when Lil Eazy-E visits Master P and asks for any information regarding his father’s death, Master P warns him: “When you start digging up old stuff, you gotta watch out. You’re just digging up stuff that you might not to be prepared for.” Growing Up Hip Hop airs Thursdays at 9 pm on WEtv. [BONUS: Stream any WE tv show through the WE TV Digital App found here.
