The protagonist of the Lifetime movie My Christmas Inn is advertising executive Jen Taylor (Tia Mowry-Hardrict). Right before she expects to get a big promotion, she learns that she’s inherited an inn in Alaska from her Great Aunt Helen. She gets a call from the small town Cedar Hill, Alaska attorney Steve Anderson (Rob Mayes) who tells her all she has to do is come and claim it. Turns out attorney Steve is young, handsome and single, too. They get caught up in the fun and festive Christmas traditions of the small town and it looks like Jen isn’t leaving any time soon.
Jen’s mother Susan Taylor is portrayed by Jackée Harry, and her father Perry Taylor is portrayed by Tim Reid. Harry and Reid played Mowry’s parents in the sitcom Sister, Sister with Tia’s twin sister Tamera. Harry is also well-recognized for her roles on 227 (Sandra, for which she won a Primetime Emmy Award), Everybody Hates Chris (Vanessa), and more recently on The Paynes (JoAnn Payne), among others. Reid is also known for his roles on WKRP in Cincinnati (DJ Venus Flytrap) and Simon & Simon (Lt. Downtown Brown), among others. My Christmas Inn premieres on Lifetime on Wednesday, November 21 at 8 pm.
