In the Season 9 premiere of Bob’s Burgers, “Just One of the Boyz 4 Now for Now,” the boy band Boyz4Now is in town. They’re holding auditions to replace member Boo Boo who left the band. As Channel 6 reports, “their album ‘3 Is More Than 4’ did not top the charts.”) Girls are not allowed to the open call due to previous incidents, e.g. a girl crawling into an air duct to get close to Boyz 4 Now. Tina’s not interested until she bumps into a boy named Damon, whom she imagines marrying. But he’s in a rush — he’s going to the audition. Tina decides to disguise herself as a boy and sneak into the Boyz 4 Now auditions to find Damon.
The part of Damon is played by actor Josh Gad. He’s the voice behind Olaf in the Frozen movies, Chuck in The Angry Birds Movies, Ludlow Lamonsoff in Pixels, and Louis in Ice Age, among others. On camera, Gad is known for his roles in the movies Jobs (Steve Wozniak, see link above), The Wedding Ringer (Doug Harris), and Beauty and the Beast (LeFou), among others. Bob’s Burgers airs Sundays at 8:30pm on FOX, right after The Simpsons and right before Family Guy.
