On Season 2 of World of Dance, judges Jennifer Lopez, Derek Hough and Ne-Yo were treated to a performance by Upper Team Desi Hoopers. The six-man hip hop dance crew from Mumbai, India gave an exciting and fun performance which garnered a score of 96 out of 100 on their initial outing. (That’s sky high.) For the World of Dance Duels, Desi Hoppers face Opus Dance Collective, an 8-person troupe (7 females, 1 male) from Ontario, Canada.
[“Talk Dirty” is on Jason Derulo’s album of the same title]
Desi Hoppers is going to be hard to beat. The twentysomething dancers make jumping onto a man’s shoulders look effortless and they have a sense of humor. Part of their Duels routine is set to the song “Talk Dirty” by Jason Derulo featuring 2 Chainz (see link above). When they all turn their backs to the judges and scratch in unison, all three judges can’t help but crack a smile and laugh. World of Dance has moved to its new day and time – Wednesdays at 8pm on NBC.
