In the Living Biblically episode “Love Thy Neighbor,” Chip (Jay R. Ferguson) has had it with his loud freaky neighbors, Phyllis and Karl. They like techno-music and are very affectionate at odd hours of the night. After several sleepless nights, Chip turns to his “God squad” Rabbi Gil (David Kromholtz) and Father Gene (Ian Gomez) for advice when it comes to loving they neighbor.
Phyllis is portrayed by British actress Jane Carr. She’s best known for her roles as Louise Mercer on the sitcom Dear John with Judd Hirsch (1988-1992) and in the 1969 film The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie as Mary McGregor, among others. Karl is portrayed by Michael Ensign. The former member of the Royal Shakespeare Company (1972-1975) is known for his roles on Boston Legal (Judge Paul Resnick), and in the American films Titanic (Benjamin Guggenheim), Ghostbusters (Hotel Manger), and WarGames (Beringer’s Aide), among many others. Living Biblically airs Mondays at 9:30pm on CBS, right after Young Sheldon.
[NOTE about streaming: Cable cutters can watch a live stream of every CBS show through Amazon Prime or CBS ALL-ACCESS. Both options offer free trials.]
