In the Project Runway All Stars episode “Perfect Pairings,” host Alyssa Milano presents another interesting challenge. She tells the designers that whoever they’re sitting next to is their partner. Together they need to create fashion inspired by food and wine pairings. Comedian, actress and The View host Whoopi Goldberg joins the judges for All Stars’ first ever double elimination. That’s right, if a pair’s look is weak, they’re both going home.
[Whoopi played Guinan on Star Trek: Next Generation]
After Project Runway judge fashion designer Isaac Mizrahi tells rookie designer Amanda Valentine and veteran Joshua McKinley that they “killed it this week,” Whoopi has some strong words for Selma Blair look-a-like veteran designer Candice Cuoco and her rookie partner Merline Labissiere. Whoopi tells the ladies: “I was on Star Trek and that’s what I’m seeing when I look.” (Whoopi wore some awesome costumes on Star Trek, see below, but the assignment was not to make a make an outfit for a Memory Alpha in space.) Whoopi adds salt to her fashion critique by saying, “It looks like I put it together.” Ouch. Project Runway All Stars airs Thursdays at 8pm and 9pm on Lifetime.
Sure, the state of the world seems to be at an all time low. But Whoopi Goldberg was a full-on cast member of Star Trek once. So basically what I’m saying is to never lose hope. pic.twitter.com/F7yCTwmnSX
