One of the reasons why VH1’s Love & Hip Hop franchise is so successful is because it features a variety of hip hop artists — those who already have a career and reputation in the business, and those who are desperately trying to break into the business. LHH’s fourth installment, Love & Hip Hop: Miami, is no exception. While rappers Trina and Trick Daddy are the heavyweights, Dominican singer Amara La Negra is trying to break into the American market.
[Amara’s latest single is Pa Tu Cama Ni Loca, featuring 2Nyce]
The fun and young Amara was born in the U.S. and she is grateful to her Dominican mother Ana who moved to America 20 years ago. Ana is Amara’s best friend (see photo below). So much so that when Amara goes out on the town, she brings her mother (who doesn’t drink, btw). It catches a lot guys off guard. But as Amara says, her mother “usually sees things that I don’t.” The big question is, will Amara’s tight relationship with her mother help or hinder her effort to cross over into the American market? Love & Hip Hop: Miami airs Mondays at 9pm on VH1. [Related: Trick Daddy: 12 Dope Facts About ‘Love & Hip Hop Miami’ Rapper]
