In the Empire episode “Fortune Be Not Crost,” the Lyon family stands together in court when Hakeem (Bryshere “Yazz” Gray) and Anika’s (Grace Byers) legal battle over their baby girl Bella begins. Both parents testify in court, and yes, it gets messy. Even Lucious (Terrence Howard) whose memory isn’t what it used to be demands to testify. To break the dramatic tension, the camera turns to Shyne Johnson (Xzibit) in the studio who’s working with Christian singer J Poppa who’s singing the song “Need A Good Girl.”
