In the Real Housewives of Orange County episode “The Real Vikings of Orange County,” the ladies are still vacationing together in Iceland. At dinner, Vicki Gunvalson announces, “I’m getting drunk.” Tamra Judge, who is sitting right next to her, takes the opportunity to tell Vicki she needs to apologize to Shannon Beador. Vicki’s retort is, “I was friends with her before you were.” Which is relevant how? Oh that’s right, she’s in the middle of getting drunk! Relevance is a frequent casualty of inebriation.
Anyway, Tamra says, “Vicki needs to come clean on everything. What Vicki said about Shannon is wrong. And she owes her an apology.” Vicki “eats some humble pie” and does apologize. “I misinterpreted the phone call that night,” Vicki tells Shannon. Is the apology sincere? Shannon doesn’t think so. Although in the moment Shannon says “I appreciate it” and “thank you” to Vicki, she later calls the apology (in front of everyone) “a bunch of bulls–t.” Shannon says Vicki is not remorseful.
