Ilianna Viramontes is the 18-year-old singer from Brentwood, California who’s competing on The Voice, Season 13. For her Blind Audition, Ilianna sings the 2007 song “New Soul” by French-Israeli singer Yael Naim, and joins Miley Cyrus‘ team. The quirky song was used in an Apple TV commercial for the MacBook Air laptop. See video below.

It’s an interesting song choice but Ilianna is certainly an interesting young woman. With her father being an FBI agent, she’s moved around a lot. And while she started out as a cheerleader in high school, she eventually left the squad to sing in the choir. And now music is her passion. She missed her high school graduation in order to be on The Voice! The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
