The Lifetime TV movie Psycho Wedding Crasher is about a meek young woman named Jenna who works as a dressmaker for her Aunt Daisy. Jenna has her heart set on getting married one day but Daisy continues to berate Jenna. “Nobody would ever put up with you, especially a man,” Daisy tells Jenna. Keep in mind, Daisy thinks Jenna’s mother killed Daisy’s brother. The actress playing Aunt Daisy is Joan Van Ark who said of her mean character, “It’s a zip code I’ve never been to before.”
The former Broadway star Joan Van Ark is known for her roles on The Young and the Restless (Gloria Simmons Abbott), Knots Landing and Dallas (Valene Ewing), Spider-Woman (Spider-Woman aka Jessica Drew), and in one of the first medical dramas The New Temperatures Rising Show (Nurse Annie Carlisle) in the early 1970s with comedian Paul Lynde. Psycho Wedding Crasher premieres on Lifetime on Sunday, September 3 at 8pm.
