On the heels of Trailer Park Shark and Toxic Shark comes the Syfy TV movie Empire of the Sharks. It’s about two friends who risk their lives to rescue a young female prisoner who’s been trapped by a warlord named Ian Fein who controls an army of bloodthirsty sharks. Ian is portrayed by veteran actor John Savage.
Savage is known for his roles in the films The Deer Hunter with Robert De Niro (Vietnam Veteran Steven), Milos Forman’s Hair (Claude Hooper Bukowski), The Onion Field (Det. Karl Francis Hettinger), Spike Lee’s Do the Right Thing (Clifton) and Summer of Sam (Simon), Francis Ford Coppola’s The Godfather: Part III (Father Andrew Hagen), and Terrence Malik’s The Thin Red Line (Sgt. McCron), among many others. Empire of the Sharks premieres on Syfy on Saturday, August 5 at 8pm.
