In the Love & Hip Hop Hollywood episode “Make It Count”, while Ray J makes a bet with A1 and Safaree regarding sperm count, three of the new female cast members pursue their singing careers — Chanel West Coast meets with a producer, Keyshia Cole gets advice from Too Short, and Brooke Valentine “goes on a mission to uncover the truth about Ma.”

Brooke Valentine (born Kanesha Nichole Brookes) made a big splash in 2005 with her single “Girlfight” featuring Big Boi and Lil Jon (video below). In 2010, she gave birth to her son London (who she calls her “tiny hero”) and took a hiatus to raise him (he has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy). Now she’s back in the studio laying down tracks for her new album. On top of that, she’s in a relationship with recently divorced rapper/songwriter Marcus Black, which isn’t always smooth sailing. Love & Hip Hop Hollywood airs Mondays at 8pm on VH1.
