On the 24 To Life episode ‘A Family Divided,’ before James reports to prison, he has 24 hours to talk to his mother and girlfriend. He says he turned his mother in twice as a child because “she was doing drugs and neglecting us.” James says, “I don’t think she ever forgave me for that.” His mother turned him in as an adult. When he meets his mother before serving his time, James reminds her that “You taught me how to steal when I was six, ma.” She asks, “Why aren’t you letting it go?”
He also has a difficult conversation with his girlfriend. “If you don’t want to be with me, I understand.” She doesn’t want to lead him on or lie to him. “I don’t want to tell you that I’m going to be here if I’m not.” 24 To Life airs Wednesdays at 10pm on LMN.
