The 2017 TV movie The Rachels is reminiscent of the 1988 cult classic Heathers (Winona Ryder, Christian Slater, Shannen Doherty) but with a twist of 21st century social media. In The Rachels when a popular girl at high school Rachel Nelson (Madison Iseman) falls from a roof to her death, her best friend Rachel Richards (Caitlin Carver) laps up the attention she receives on social media and becomes a star. Meanwhile, Rachel Richards’ ex-friend Roxie suspects Richards’ involvement and seeks to expose her as a killer.
Roxie is portrayed by Daniela Bobadilla. The Mexican-born actress is known for her roles on The Middle (Sue’s college roommate Lexie), Anger Management (Sam Goodson), Awake (Emma), and Desperate Housewives (Marisa Sanchez), among others. The Rachels premieres on LMN on Sunday, January 15 at 8pm.
