“Medieval warrior bitch goddess” is the look and feel pop diva Madonna says she’s going for in the two-hour Showtime special, Madonna: Rebel Heart Tour. The documentary provides behind-the-scenes footage from her seven-month, 55-city tour. In the dramatic, black-and-white teaser trailer, Madonna repeats the words, “Blood, sweat and tears” as we hear a sword being drawn, and see clips of her splattered with blood in one scene and beaten up by a gang in another scene.
Madonna says she’s prepared for anything, for war. She explains, “The great thing about the war we fight every night,” referring to her backup singers and dancers, “is that we bring no harm to people. We just bring love, inspiration — and people need it.” Madonna: Rebel Heart Tour airs Friday, December 9 at 9pm on Showtime.
