In the new TV series Pitch, a talented young pitcher named Ginny Baker (Kylie Bunbury) becomes the first woman to play Major League Baseball. She joins the San Diego Padres and starts working with catcher Mike Lawson (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) and coach Al “Skip” Luongo.
Skip is portrayed by veteran actor Dan Lauria. He’s known for his roles on Ed (Richard Vessey), JAG (Allen Blaisdell), The Hoop Life (Leonard Fero), Party of Five (Coach Russ Petrocelli), Amazing Grace (Harry Kramer), The Wonder Years (Kevin’s father Jack Arnold), and Cagney & Lacey (Detective Harry Dupnik), among many others. Pitch airs Thursdays at 9pm on FOX.
