Faith Hedgepeth was a 19-year-old sophomore at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill when she was murdered on September 7, 2012. Her roommate, Karena Rosario, discovered Hedgepeth’s partially nude body in their apartment. Police report Hedgepeth had been “bludgeoned to death by an empty bottle of rum” and she was “more likely than not” raped.
DNA was collected at the scene of the crime, as was a bag from the local restaurant Time-Out. On it someone wrote, “I’m not stupid, b—-, jealous.” The DNA from the pen matches the DNA found on Hedgepeth’s body. Still, police and the FBI have not found her killer. ABC 20/20 will air its investigative report of the murder of Hedgepeth on Friday, September 23 at 10pm. And according to ABC-TV Channel 11 in Raleigh, NC, 20/20 will also release a never-before-seen composite of what her killer may look like based on the DNA found.
