It’s been a breakout year for 13-year-old professional dancer Maddie Ziegler. She left former teacher Abbie Lee Miller and Dance Moms, became a judge on So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation, continues to star in Sia’s videos, and is making her film debut with Naomi Watts in The Book of Henry. Now, Ziegler can add another title to her resume, author. She announced that Gallery Books will publish her memoir, The Maddie Diaries, in March 2017. And…she’s writing a trilogy for middle grade readers like herself. The protagonist is a young teenage girl who’s trying to make it in the competitive dance circuit. The first book will be available in Fall 2017.
Gallery Books (owned by Simon & Schuster) is the publisher of comedian Amy Schumer’s The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo which just topped the New York Times bestseller list for Print Hardcover books. Think Maddie can do that? So far, she’s been able to do whatever she sets her mind to. P.S. So You Think You Can Dance airs Mondays at 8pm on FOX.
