Craig Sager, the popular and colorfully clad NBA sideline reporter, has been battling cancer (acute myeloid leukemia) for the past two years. By his side has been his wife of 15 years, Stacy Sager. The couple met while Stacy was working as a Luvabulls Chicago Bulls dancer. They have two children together, Ryan and Riley, and have raised them in the Atlanta suburb of Braselton. In the A, the Sagers own the Jocks N Jills Sports Bar where a number of Sager’s colorful suits hang in retirement.
When Sager was first in the hospital, Stacy said her husband was uplifted by visits from TNT co-worker Charles Barkley who would tease Craig and point to Stacy, “Is that pretty girl still with you? She shouldn’t be with you. She should be with me.” In March 2016, Sager announced that his leukemia had returned. Vice President Joe Biden will present Sager with the Jimmy V Award at the 2016 ESPY Awards.
