Rhonda Glover, the former Miss Houston beauty pageant winner, was 23 years old when she met rich oilman Jimmy Joste, who was 40. According to the docu-series Killer Women, Joste showered Glover with expensive gifts, gave her a monthly allowance of $10,000. After she had Joste’s son, John James Chandler Joste, he also bought Glover a house in Austin. But they argued a lot. And according to Glover, Joste abused drugs and worshipped the devil. In 2003, when their relationship really started to go downhill, Glover claims she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
In July 2004, Glover bought a gun, set up human targets at the house, and took shooting lessons. That month, Jimmy Joste was found dead in his home. He had been shot 10 times. Rhonda Glover claimed she shot Joste in self-defense. She was found guilty of murder and was sentenced to serve 46 years in prison. Glover will be interviewed by Piers Morgan on Killer Women, which airs Fridays at 8pm on TLC.
