Before Christopher Bathum founded the rehab empire of Community Recovery in Los Angeles, he was the founder and executive director of the Seasons Recovery Center in Malibu. During his time there, he self-published the book Conversations with Dog: Discourses with Coyote on the Nature of Mischief in 2009. The book is described as “a profound, fun and fast-moving conversation” that “investigates relationships, politics, nature, and addiction in a way that brings home the contemporary relevance of ancient teachings regarding balance.” The book is told from the point of view of Coyote, a Native American spirit.
Chris Bathum is in the news as a number of former Community Recovery clients are accusing “the rehab mogul” of derailing their treatment by supplying them with drugs. Bathum denies the allegations and says he is countersuing the women for libel. Both sides of the story will be revealed on ABC 20/20 which airs Fridays at 10pm on ABC.
