In The Catch Season 1 finale episode “The Happy Couple; The Wedding,” Ben (Peter Krause) gets a surprise visit from the Kensington Firm’s matriarch Sybil Griffiths, whom he refers to as “Mom.” (She’s actually the mother of Rhys and Margauex.) Sybil has secured invitations for them to attend the social event of the season, a wedding that is ripe for robbing.
Sybil Griffiths is portrayed by Lesley Nicol. Americans will recognize the English actress for her role as downstairs cook Mrs. Patmore on Downton Abbey. Fun fact about Nicol: She auditioned for the role of Molly Weasley in the Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone but it went to Julie Walters. The Catch airs Thursdays at 9pm on ABC.
