Attorney Robert Shapiro is best known for being one of the many lawyers representing O.J. Simpson at the “trial of the century.” In 1994, Simpson was charged with the murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown and her friend Ronald Goldman. Twenty years later, the now 73-year-old celebrity attorney is talking about the case again (he’s promoting a book, see link below) on Megyn Kelly Presents on FOX. Promotions for the Shapiro/Kelly interview claim Shapiro will reveal what exactly Simpson whispered to him when the not guilty verdict was read in court in 1995. Shapiro and Simpson didn’t talk much after that — they haven’t spoken since 1995, he says.
[Shapiro’s new book, The Search for Justice, will be released May 19]
Simpson wasn’t Shapiro’s only famous client. The book has plenty to choose from. One of Shapiro’s first clients was porn star Linda Lovelace of Deep Throat fame. In 1974, Lovelace was charged with possession of cocaine and amphetamines in Las Vegas. He also defended late night talk show host Johnny Carson (when he was arrested for drunk driving); Christian Brando (Marlon Brando’s son who faced manslaughter charges), and Darryl Strawberry (who left the Los Angeles Dodgers after confessing to having a drug habit). Shapiro will appear on Megyn Kelly Presents on May 17 at 8pm on FOX.
