Christopher Gray is the young man behind Scholly, an app that helps students find scholarships for higher education. (Approximately $100 million in scholarships go unused every year.) Gray created the app based on his own life experience and success rate. The Drexel University graduate received $1.3 million in college scholarships.

When Gray pitched Scholly on Shark Tank in 2015, he made a deal with investors Lori Greiner and Daymond John. Since then, John brokered a deal with President Obama’s non-profit organization My Brother’s Keeper Alliance which is buying the app for 270,000 young men of color. Gray is also promoting Scholly, which is available for $0.99 on Amazon, in a Cadillac “Daring Origins” commercial (see below).
