Dancing With The Stars’ new fresh face Ginger Zee has style and energy to spare. And Zee has the kind of magnetism that makes her coworkers on Good Morning America fly to LA to watch her dance — even when they have to fly back to NYC to do the show bright and early the next morning. The Dancing With The Stars Season 22 premiere got off to a riveting start — the talent is the tops this season and the audience is primed. But even with all the very strong performances, Ginger Zee was the dancer who came closest to winning the whole competition on day one. Well, an exaggeration there, but she did come closest to the Mirror Ball Trophy — at least by association.
After Zee danced, DWTS judge Carrie Ann Inaba asked her: have you ever heard of someone called Bindi Irwin? (Zee, of course, and everyone in the room, knew the name of last year’s Mirror Ball Trophy champ — the relentlessly adorable and talented Irwin.) Inaba continued to say that all she could think about while watching Zee dance was Bindi. Because of the style, energy, flair, charm and, yup, that magnetism. To add to her winning story, Ginger Zee became a proud mom in December. She’s going to be tough to beat if, as the votes pour in, Zee reminds America of Bindi Irwin too.
