The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is a hot ticket, but if you pay $70,000 you should be able to get in. That’s the contention of handsome Major League Baseball pitcher Cole Hamels, who allegedly did pay nearly $70K for the pleasure. But Hamels got nada for his loot. Not even brushed by an angel’s wings. And to top it off, Hamels was bringing his wife. But when they arrived at the door, it was far more opaque than anything on the runway — they couldn’t get in.
Hamels is suing a London company that Hamels claims he paid for a package that was to include the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show and other accommodations. (He’s not suing Victoria’s Secret.) But we probably don’t need to feel too sorry for Hamels. Turned away at the door, he was still able to spend time with his wife, Heidi, as much a Victoria’s Secret Angel type as one could hope for. And Hamels’ last contract pays him an average of $24 million a year. Still, you should get what you pay for, right?
