Kanye West lit up Twitter as usual, but this time he was actually talking about music — kind of. A Kanye critic knocked the rapper in Bob Lefsetz’s popular newsletter — and when Kanye got wind his feelings were hurt. Bob Ezrin, a music industry veteran who worked with Pink Floyd and other rock acts, told Lefsetz’s readers that Kanye didn’t matter much. That he wouldn’t be quoted in twenty years the way NWA or Jay Z or Tupac would be. Or, and this must have slayed Kanye, “or even M.C. Hammer.” In other words, you can’t touch this, Kanye.
So West flamed out at Ezrin, asking Twitter if anybody had ever heard of him, as if fame were the only accomplishment. (And in the process ensuring that people have heard of Ezrin now.) Then after apologizing for bringing Ezrin’s kids into the discussion, West wrote how embarrassed those children must be. He even offered them a consolation prize for having the obviously deficient Ezrin for a father. Yup, West offered to send the kids sneakers — his Yeezies. The discourse was hardly civil, but more than 36,000 people hearted West’s faux generosity. Notably, Kanye is a father now himself.
I’m so sorry for them… I will send them free Yeezys to make up for the embarrassment that you have caused your family!

Your kids are ashamed of their dad… Sorry for speaking about kids… but could you imagine if you were Bob Ezrin’s kids…
