On Bravo’s new reality cooking show Recipe for Deception, four chefs will do anything to impress the two judges. Keep in mind the title of the show and its tagline — “Enter the competition that requires culinary skill, serious strategy, and the ability to lie like a teenager.” Recipe for Deception is hosted by standup comedian Max Silvestri, who will provide comic relief between the contestants and the judges, Chris Cho and Jonathan Waxman.

Chef Waxman has an impressive resume. After receiving the Diplôme from La Varenne School in Paris he became chef at Alice Waters’ legendary Chez Panisse in Berkeley. He then became Executive Chef of Michael’s in Santa Monica. But it was in New York where Waxman made his mark with JAMS in 1984. He’s opened several restaurants since then across the country. He’s currently chef and owner of Barbuto in the West Village and JAMS in 1 Hotel Central Park. This isn’t Waxman’s first time on Bravo. He’s appeared on two seasons of Top Chef Masters. Recipe for Deception airs Thursdays at 10pm on Bravo.
