The 15th and final season of American Idol premieres on January 6 with the first round of auditions in Denver and Atlanta. In Denver, American Idol judges Keith Urban, Jennifer Lopez, and Harry Connick, Jr. meet 15-year-old Jeneve Rose Mitchell who reveals that she’s been living the past eight years of her life on a mountain in Colorado where there’s no electricity or running water.

The homeschooled, off-the-grid girl tells Fox411, that she and her parents use kerosene lanterns at night and when American Idol is on TV, “we turn on a generator to get the TV going.” For her audition, Mitchell sings and plays her cello to The Band Perry song “Chainsaw.” American Idol airs Wednesdays at 8pm on FOX.
