Yolanda Foster, the former model turned reality star of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, has been struggling with Lyme Disease for the past three years. She has been documenting her chronic illness and sharing the results of her experiments with alternative medicines outside of the US via social media. On the season premiere of RHOBH, she let the cameras roll as she received treatment in the apartment where she’s been staying for months (rather than at her palatial home in Malibu). Her husband, David Foster, did not appear on the show. Yolanda said he was traveling as usual and that she didn’t expect him to stop what he does, what he loves to do, just to stay by her side. The couple announced that they are divorcing after four years of marriage.

On her RHOBH blog on Bravo, Foster addressed all the feedback from the episode. She’s hurt that Lisa Vanderpump would question her approach to the disease but does admit that Lisa’s husband Ken Todd is right, “I don’t look good.” But Foster is determined to keep fighting and serving as a voice “for those who can’t be heard.” She writes: “Lyme disease is six times more prevalent than AIDS ever was in the early 80s. The globe united beautifully with one voice to combat HIV, so I pray every day that we will come together and find a cure for Lyme, affordable for all.”
