On the sitcom Truth Be Told, best friends and neighbors Mitch (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) and Russell (Tone Bell) and want to go to the Adult Film Awards but need to “get permission from their wives to attend.” The grown men conclude that being honest with their wives is worth a shot and it turns out their approach works. (Mitch is a college ethics professor, Russell is a standup comedian.) That is, until Mitch’s wife Tracy has second thoughts.
Tracy is portrayed by Vanessa (nee Minnillo) Lachey. The former Miss Teen USA (1998) launched her TV career in 2003 as co-host for Total Request Live and MTV Hits. She went on to become a New York correspondent for Entertainment Weekly and has since appeared on Dads, Hawaii Five-o, 30 Rock, and How I Met Your Mother, among other shows. She is married to former 98 Degrees boy band member Nick Lachey. They met in 2006 while filming Lachey’s music video “What’s Left of Me.” Truth Be Told airs Fridays at 8:30pm on NBC.
