In the Season 2 premiere of Madam Secretary, Elizabeth McCord (Tea Leoni) takes the oath of office when the president’s plane disappears. Chief Justice of the Supreme Court (Morgan Freeman!) does the honors. (Freeman is the show’s producer and he directs the episode.) Meanwhile, Elizabeth’s husband Henry (Tim Daly) is assigned a new Defense Intelligence Agency handler, Jane Fellows. Madam Secretary creator Barbara Hall spoke about the new relationship to Yahoo, “I think [there’s going to be] a little bit of headbutting, because it’s an odd relationship, to be brought into the world of intelligence and just how that works.”
