In the Lifetime TV movie, The Unauthorized Beverly Hills, 90210 Story, TV producer Aaron Spelling is looking for a new hit. His shows The Mod Squad and Charlie’s Angels were successful but it’s now 1990. According to this story, it was his teenage daughter Tori Spelling who told him to do a show about teenagers.

Aaron Spelling is portrayed by Dan Castellaneta. And it’s not Castellaneta’s first time taking on the role. In 2004 – two years prior to Spelling’s death (he was 83) — Castellaneta portrayed Spelling in Behind the Camera: The Unauthorized Story of Charlie’s Angels. And you can see him in the upcoming The Unauthorized Melrose Place Story (Oct 10). Castellaneta is best known as a voice actor – he plays a plethora of characters on The Simpsons including Homer Simpson and Krusty the Clown, among many others. He was also on The Tracey Ullman Show, which was a big hit right around the time Beverly Hills, 90210 premiered. The Unauthorized Beverly Hills, 90210 Story will premiere on Lifetime on October 3 at 8pm. It will air again on October 4 at 12am, 8pm, and 11pm.
