Comedic actor Kevin James did well on CBS with his King of Queens sitcom. Now the network is welcoming him back. THR reports that CBS has committed to a 13-episode series in which James plays a retired police officer. He discovers that staying at home with the wife and three kids is actually more challenging than being a cop.
King of Queens producers Rock Reuben and Jeff Sussman will reunite with James for the show, which is scheduled for the 2016-17 season. CBS Entertainment president Glenn Geller said in a statement: “We’re beyond thrilled to be back in business with Kevin James! He’s an incredibly talented star on every screen and every stage, who appeals to a broad audience. We can’t wait to start working with Kevin and the amazing comedy talents of Bruce Helford and Rock Reuben on this exciting new project.”
