On Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, a transgender teen named Avery Parker is ganged up on by a group of bullies. They harass Avery and push him off a bridge. While Avery is in the hospital with serious injuries, three of the bullies are caught and arrested. One of the older teens, 15-year-old Darius McCrae (Dante Brown), the “mastermind of the attack,” is put on trial as an adult. Darius admits to pushing Avery, “I didn’t mean for him to go over the bridge.” Darius also tells the investigators, “I didn’t want my friends to think I was gay.”
Avery is portrayed by Christopher Dylan White. He launched his acting career last year. He starred in the 2014 Counting Crows video/short film Palisades Park (see below), and appeared on an episode of The Blacklist. Dylan recently completed filming Kid Witness, a family mystery starring Susan Sarandon. Law & Order: Special Victims Unit airs Wednesdays at 9pm on NBC.
