Turns out the tryout for Jerry Rice Jr at the Cleveland Browns isn’t going to result in a gig for the son of all-world receiver and 49ers legend Jerry Rice. After hanging around but getting no time with the Redskins last year, Rice Jr reportedly got a recent workout with Cleveland, but is headed to Montreal and the CFL (Canadian Football League). Rice is a graceful receiver and it might just be his size — at 5’10” — that keeps him out of the elite football ranks. At 6’2″ (like dad) with the same skill set Rice Jr might be able to replace that C in front of FL with a big N, as in NFL.
Source confirms @ProFootballTalk report that #Browns tried out Jerry Rice Jr. No plans to sign him now. He’s set to sign with Montreal CFL

But height is no impediment to success on the dance floor. Rice Jr might consider traveling another avenue his famous father took — using his fancy footwork for dancing. The Hall of Fame legend Rice Sr has said that for all his success on the football field, he is actually became more famous for his runner-up turn on ABC’s Dancing With The Stars in 2005-96. Rice has been a virtual ambassador for the show ever since. He delighted fans and won millions of new ones. Jerry Rice Jr should look for an invitation to go Dancing — he’d be great.
