Country singer Brad Paisley already has millions of fans and followers (3.65M on Twitter). But let’s face it, he’s no Blake Shelton. Shelton has 13.4 million Twitter followers. So when it came time to make a video for his song “Country Nation” (which is on Paisley’s 2014 album Moonshine in the Truck), Paisley put on his marketing hat and struck gold.
The music video for “Country Nation” features more than 24 of the country’s most beloved college sports mascots working as everyday Americans. Purdue Pete fixes cars. Michigan State’s Sparty the Spartan delivers packages. So every single college represented in the video (and their massive alumni faithful) is promoting the video, which is conveniently being released in time for the college football season. P.S. Michigan State has a student body of about 50k, Purdue 38k. Watch out, Blake!
