Kim Kimble is the star of WEtv’s reality series L.A. Hair. She’s a celeb hairstylist who has adorned the heads of Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Shakira, Mary J. Blige, Britney Spears and do you really need to hear more names? Kimble started her career working as a shampoo girl in her mother’s salon. She originally wanted to be a fashion designer but after seeing the Bronner Brothers hair show, her life changed. Kimble trained at Vidal Sassoon Academy and Dudley Cosmetology University in North Carolina. She got her big Hollywood break when filmmaker Robert Townsend hired her as key hair stylist on the hilarious movie B.A.P.S. starring Halle Berry.
[Who Is Jonathan Antin on ‘L.A. Hair’?]
Kimble has since opened two salons in California and launched Kimble Hair Care Systems, which is “designed to address the needs of women of color with various hair textures.” Kimble is a master at hair extensions, an area which fellow celeb stylist Jonathan Antin wants to get into. But like the saying there are too many cooks in the kitchen, on L.A. Hair, there are too many stylists in the salon. L.A. Hair airs Thursdays at 10pm on WE.
