The beautiful part is that she’s actually named America. America Ferrera, the beautiful, talented, clearly sensible actress who originally found fame as (and in) Ugly Betty, just thanked hard-blowing “truth”-spewer Donald J. Trump. Why would Ferrera express her gratitude to a man who just impugned the characters of millions of Mexicans? Because she’s sure Trump comments like that Mexico sends their “rapists” to America will get out the vote. The vote against Trump vote.
“Here we are pounding the pavement to get American Latinos to the polls, while your tactic proves most effective,” Ferrera wrote in an editorial at Huffington Post. “Remarks like yours will serve brilliantly to energize Latino voters and increase turnout on election day against you and any other candidate who runs on a platform of hateful rhetoric.” If anyone’s ugly here, it’s Trump and his “outdated fantasy of a bigoted America.” If anyone’s qualified to identify the ugly, it’s Ugly Better herself — the perfectly named America Ferrera.
