Academy Award-winning actress Tatum O’Neal had three children with tennis star John McEnroe. One of them is Kevin McEnroe. Last year, Kevin was arrested for buying cocaine in the East Village. He was also charged with criminal possession of prescription pills. Kevin has a lot in common with his mother. She lost custody of her kids in 1998 due to her heroin addiction.
According to the New York Times, “both are now sober and healthy.” In fact, Kevin has a novel out called Our Town about an actress who struggles with alcoholism. Before Kevin read from his novel at the Strand Bookstore, Times reporter Philip Galanes interviewed famous mother and son together. He noticed O’Neal had tattooed a message from her son Kevin on her forearm: “I’m you, you’re me.”
