It’s an old jingle–Be Like Mike–that somehow sounds new still. Maybe it’s because no one has flown through the air quite like Michael Jordan did–and seeing him leap astonishes just the way it did the first time. Or maybe it’s because there have been other high-flyers, but nobody wins like Mike did. You want to fly or you want to win, Michael Jordan remains the man. He’s the dream and the discipline, the imagination and the hard work, the air and the ground floor. That’s where the famous Michael Jordan shoulder shrug comes from–it means hey, I’m all things what can I say?
Gatorade knows it’s not just you and me who want to #BeLikeMike, it’s superstars too. 23 seasons (yup #23) after it first aired, Gatorade brought back the #BeLikeMike aspirational ads this winter–and all they needed to add was a hashtag. Now Gatorade is adding to the roster of stars who want to be like Mike. Check out Abby Wambach, Serena Williams, Mia Hamm and more shouting out. Also in the mix are some cool social media celebrations of some famous Jordan moments. Mike, as he attests here, still has it.
