On The Good Wife, the law firm of Florrick/Agos/Lockhart has taken on a new client – a man who was paralyzed by a malfunctioning gun created by a 3D printer. Lockhart’s husband, gun advocate Kurt McVeigh (Gary Cole) testifies which makes things complicated at home. Comic relief is provided by Judge Charles Abernathy, “an idiosyncratic, fussy liberal who openly praises the local Occupy Wall Street effort, even going down to lend his support.” He likes to pace around the courtroom “to stay awake.”
Judge Abernathy is portrayed by Denis O’Hare who also plays Spalding/Stanley/Larry Harvey on American Horror Story. He’s also known for his film roles as Dr. Sevard in Dallas Buyers Club, Mr. Gilbertson in The Proposal, and John Briggs in Milk.
