Age is just a number and you’re only as young as you feel. Those adages could apply to the influential Italian-born record producer, songwriter, performer and DJ Giorgio Moroder who has named the first single off his new, still-untitled album “74 is the New 24.” It’s Moroder’s first album in 30 years. Moroder happens to be 74 and doesn’t plan on slowing down anytime soon. Credited with pioneering synth disco and electronic music, Moroder is experiencing a resurgence in popularity.
Earlier this year, he released “Giorgio’s Theme,” his first single in 20 years. Last year, Giorgio collaborated with Daft Punk on their Random Access Memories album. A number of artists, including Britney Spears, Sia, Charli XCX, Kylie Minogue, Mikky Ekko, Foxes and Matthew Koma will appear on the new album scheduled for release in Spring 2015.
